Intellectual property developed at the University of Helsinki part of $500 million licensing agreement (25.02.2008)
Dyax Corp. (Cambridge, Mass., USA) has announced on February 12, 2008 that they have entered into a licensing agreement with sanofi-aventis, a leading global pharmaceutical company, to its proprietary antibody phage display technology and drug candidate DX-2240. This fully human monoclonal antibody, developed at Dyax Corp., recognizes the Tie-1 receptor that is needed for the neovascularization of tumors. Licentia Ltd. licensed to Dyax Corp. its intellectual property relating to Tie-1 antibodies, which now has been sublicensed further to sanofi-aventis. The licensing of the DX-2240 drug candidate has significant financial impact to Licentia and its scientific network.
